Arthur Ellis FinalistTHIRTEEN. An anthology of crime storiesTHIRTEEN (Carrick Publishing, 2013) is the first anthology of crime stories sponsored by the Mesdames of Mayhem.

Kindle release: Sept. 1, 2013
Print release: Oct. 15, 2013

Thirteen received TWO Arthur Ellis Award nominations for Best Short Story: “Watermelon Weekend by Donna Carrick  and “The Emerald Skull” by Sylvia Maultash Warsh.

The stunning cover, our logo and our signature purple colour are thanks to the creativity of  Sara Carrick, graphic designer extraordinaire!

Because the Mesdames hail from various backgrounds, this eclectic collection of crime stories offers a mix of literary ‘flavors’ from comedy to historicals to noir, from flash fiction and to novellas.

And the title “Thirteen”? Simply because it contains the work of 13 of Canada’s new and seasoned crime fiction authors and was first published in 2013! The success of Thirteen  has proved over and that 13 is the Mesdames’ lucky number!
